Read here about tensegrity structures deployed in such a way as to define a plane, or a flat continuous space, though such a structure will also have depth.

PlaneEdit

In Mathematics a plane is any flat surface that can be described with two Cartesian coordinates, hence the designation of a plane as two dimensional. The traditional concept of a plane is limited to these two dimensions only, hence is an abstract concept that cannot be constructed with real materials.

Many tensegrity researchers have constructed flat, or planar, structures using tensegrity. See floor, wall.
